Death toll from massive Northern California wildfire rises

The death toll is expected to rise further as search teams comb through the wreckage of dwellings that were engulfed during a chaotic evacuation of populated areas along the path of the swiftly spreading flames, police said.

A Northern California wildfire has become the state’s deadliest of the year with authorities announcing seven more deaths, bringing the total to at least 10.

The death toll is feared to climb as searchers are looking for 16 missing people.
