25m long dead whale spotted off UAE coast

A dead whale was spotted by a group of fishermen near the creek of Al Hamra Island in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah on Tuesday, Sharjah News reported.

It could have died and washed up due to the sea currents in that zone of the Arabian Sea, said Dr Saif Mohammed Al Ghais, director-general of Environment Protection and Development Authority in RAK.

The baleen whale was 25 meters long, he added.
